  1. Another compelling example of good outsourcing: Even Bill Gates, who can easily afford to retain his own personal medical staff, goes to doctors who see, and learn from, lots of other patients.

  2. Banks are trustworthy because the federal government insures deposits (FDIC). Before such rules were insituted, people didn’t “trust” banks very much and the stereotypical “run on a bank” wasn’t just something we saw in movies, but a real life occurrence.

    Until hosted web services offer something similar to FDIC (e.g., better than a standard SLA), the two can’t really be compared.
