Endtroducing: The Badass Book Feed

Lots of bloggers and other folks recommend interesting books they have recently read. Wouldn’t you like an RSS feed that aggregates these recommendations?

Well hallelujah, here it is:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/badassbook

And you can subscribe by email with this form (the form may not work in your RSS reader):

Anyone can add events to the feed by tagging the review on del.icio.us with the tag badass.book. That is all you have to do! (This kind of collaborative RSS feed is called a groupcast.)

And no, I am not in a rut with all these RSS feeds I keep launching.

  1. I have a quick question – what advantage is there to subscribing to the feedburner feed that you provide, rather than directly to the del.icio.us tag feed at http://del.icio.us/rss/tag/badass.book

Is it simply to get the stats, or am I missing some additional functionality that feedburner provides?

    K

  2. In addition to stats, Feedburner provides a layer of indirection.

So if I want to start use something other than del.icio.us to manage the groupcast in the future, everyone can still keep their feedburner subscription and I can just change whatever feedburner points to.
