Wikipedia defines LazyWeb as
“The idea that if you wait long enough, someone will implement that wacky idea you had… (or already has!)”
I define LazyPhoto as
The idea that you don’t need to take photographs anymore because someone will take the picture for you and put it on flickr.
I was going to take some photos of the Blue Angels that have been dive-bombing and barnstorming all over San Francisco for the last week for my friend Christa Favot.
But why bother with all the work of 1) taking the photos, 2) downloading them to my computer, and then 3) uploading them for her to see? There are already a million photos of the event on flickr.
What else can we get lazy about?
Don’t Take That Picture, Flickr Will Do It For You
Nivi posts an interesting idea equating Flickr with Lazyweb:…why bother with all the work of 1) taking the photos, 2) downloading them to my computer, and then 3) uploading them for her to see? There are already a million photos…
An interesting observation, but is it correct?

there is a real lazy photo concept:
1. let’s build a random photo generator (begin with grey -128 levels- pictures, size 256×256), and store the generated pictures in a database.
2. plug a picture search engine on it
you do not even need a camera!
all the possible îctures will be there. for instance :
1. you and G. Washington on the top of pyramids
2. me and you playing soccer with Pelee
etc…
that’s really lazy photo…
I was going to leave a comment, but then I figured that if I wait long enough, someone else will do it for me.
Hi,
I’ve been aware of Google Image Search for a while now, and since I’m familiar with the phenomenon of common events being photographed to death, I’ve taken to photographing mundane things. It’s people like me who will be the photographers of the future, snapping anything that is unlikely to have been photographed before, simply to be either the first, or to have a cool collection of personally taken photos at hand.
There are a bajillion photos of the Empire State building for instance, but how many people have their face next to the “no guns and no knives” sign like I do on my website?
LazyGov - a draft
LazyGov is based on the LazyWeb concept and the RFC (Request for Comments) process. The LazyWeb claims that “The idea that if you wait long enough, someone will implement that wacky idea you had… (or already has!)“. civil society take…
